How To Properly Build A Campfire

When going camping it’s a good idea to follow all fire safety precautions in order to build a proper campfire. Many people simply do not know how to build a campfire that is going to last for a long time and there are some things that you should know before attempting anything that involves flames.

For one, you want to make sure that you have the right space to start a campfire. This means that all objects, especially ones that are flammable, are away from the fire pit. You should also line the pit with stones or bricks to ensure that the fire stays in one designated spot.

When building a good flame, you want to start from the bottom up. Many people use fire-sticks and flint fire-starters that work very well to get a flame going. What you should do is begin by lining the pit with fire-sticks. These sticks are often small and get a good small flame up.

Then, you can put crumpled up papers on top of that. Once the bottom of the pit is lined up you can then place a few large logs on. This way, the fire stays steady and grows slowly. You will be sure to have a fire that lasts a very long time.

If you happen to be out in the cold weather or are going camping for a few days, make sure to bring any and all equipment with you to stay warm and safe. And when the campfire is going, be sure to stay away from it and not be fully on top of the flames.

It’s also advisable that you do not use anything that can shoot the flame up, such as lighter fluid. It’s a good idea to follow all safety precautions before attempting anything with fire.
