Trek Canvas Cabin Tent Reviews

I wanted to share with you my story about my Trek Canvas tent and hopefully you will be able to forward this email to the right person. Sometimes we get so caught up in our everyday life that we only send emails to complain about product, but this email is the exact opposite and something that I believe you guys should be very proud of. I purchased my Trek Canvas tent last year sometime during the summer after two of my cousins have been using them over the last 3-4 years during the hunting season. They swore by them and the more I saw how well the tents stood up to the element I decided that I needed to purchase one for myself.

I have attached some pictures of the tent during different times during the hunting season and after the hunting season. We have a property in Wrightsville GA that we use for deer hunting and a year ago we went up to get ready to set up some tree stands and to do some scouting and that is when I built my Trek Canvas tent. My father and I set it up with the regular rain fly that it came with and the only other thing we did was add an extra rain fly on top to protect it from the elements because the tent was “suppose” to stay there from August-December and we wanted to make sure that all the gear we left inside would stay dry. Inside the tent were two cots, two sleeping bags, 2 pillows, a table, and 2 chairs, the reason we left so many things in the tent is b/c we live in Miami and it’s a 9 hour drive for us so the less we have to do when we get there the more time we have to hunt. From August till the second week of December we went hunting about 7-8 times and every time we got to our Trek Canvas tent we were pleased to see that it had held up without any damage. The last time we went hunting was the weekend of December 17th 2010 and we were suppose to come back the week of Christmas but do to some fa mil y matters we were not able to return for our final hunt and to take down the tent and everything that was in it.

Here is where things definitely got interesting, during January we were told that 5” of snow had fallen at the camp site and that it had destroyed our kitchen canopy and another hunters tent that was also left behind. I thought for sure that our tent had also fallen due to the weight of the snow, but unfortunately due to work we were not able to go back up to GA to double check on the tent and get our belongings. At this point we had pretty much come to terms with whatever was in the tent was now lost. During the month of March there were reportedly some really high winds and tornados in the area and some damage was done to the rest of the campsite. My cousins went in April to do some turkey hunting and when they arrived they could not believe what they saw. The first picture is of the tent the way they found it when they got there in April and this is after the reported 5” of snow and also the tornado force winds reported. The second picture is of the other tents that were left the same amount of time as my Trek Canvas tent. Again we were suppose to go up in May and b/c of work we were not able to make it up and during May or June there was a tropical storm that passed where our camp site is located and this time I thought for sure the tent would not hold up. We went up this past weekend (8/13/10) to basically clean up the camp site and burn whatever was left of the tents and what was inside of them.

When we pulled up to the campsite we were all in total disbelief when we saw my tent still standing, a little beat up as you will see in the third picture but amazingly it had been standing for exactly 1 year, had withstood rain, snow, tropical force winds, and the abuse of everyday sun and everything that was inside was somehow dry and in one piece. While I obviously had to throw away the tent I could not be any more pleased with the quality of it and will be recommending this to anyone who asks me what kind of tent they should buy. As it is the tent has kind of become a legend in our hunting group so I am sure you will be getting a few more sales from this. I have also gone ahead and included a few more pictures of some deer we harvested that was all made possible b/c our Trek Canvas tent held up to harsh environment. Again I want to thank you for putting out such a high quality product and you should know that you have a customer for life in me and more than likely all the members of our hunting group.
