Camping Lanterns light up the campground
One of the most important pieces of gear for your camping or backing trip is lighting. Lanterns, electric lamps and flashlights ensure that there is light during the night. Camping lanterns and battery powered lights can be carried, hung inside or outside a tent or just set on the ground.

Most lanterns are powered by propane or camp fuels such as kerosene and use special fabric mantels for burning the fuel to create light. Propane is a good choice for a lantern since the propane cylinders can also be used for most camp stoves and burn cleaner than liquid fueled lamps. Battery powered lights are the easy to use, produce little heat, and can be used safely inside your camping tent. Be sure to carry along spare batteries, rechargeable batteries are great, especially if you have a continuous way to recharge them during the day.
Check out the LED lamps, these provide excellent light while using less energy than incandescent bulbs. Available with hand cranks and in battery powered models. Be sure you can light up your night on your next family outing.
